China’s National Intellectual Property Administration to Close from February 10 – 17, 2024 for Lunar New Year

China’s National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) will be closed from February 10, 2024, Saturday, through February 17, 2024, Saturday, for the Spring Festival Holiday (Lunar New Year).  Note that February 4, 2024 (Sunday) and February 18, 2024 (Sunday)  are designated as working days in China but patent deadlines that fall due on February 18, 2024 will be extended to February 19, 2024.

Reminder: Extended CNIPA Closure September 29, 2023 to October 6, 2023

China’s National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) will be closed from September 29, 2023, Friday, through October 6, 2023, Friday, for the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Holiday in China. However, October 7, 2023 (Saturday) and October 8, 2023 (Sunday) will be working days in China. Patent deadlines will be extended to October 9, 2023 but trademark deadlines will only be extended to October 7, 2023.

China’s National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) will be closed from January 21, 2023, Saturday, through January 27, 2023, Friday, for the Spring Festival Holiday (Lunar New Year).  Note that January 28, 2023, Saturday and January 29, 2023, Sunday will be working days in China. Trademark deadlines will only be extended to January 28, 2023 (NOT January 30, 2023) while patent deadlines will be extended to January 30, 2023.

The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) will be closed from October 1, 2022 to October 7, 2022 for the Chinese National Day holiday. All official patent deadlines falling on the above dates will be automatically extended to October 10, 2022.  Note that October 8 and 9, 2022 will be work days and CNIPA will be open.  Accordingly, please provide your Chinese counsel with instructions for actions due as soon as possible to avoid a rush immediately after the holiday. …
