Western fashion brands have been immensely successful in China. However, with success comes the risk of imitation, and imitation may not always feel flattering: It could involve counterfeiters, squatters and hijackers. In this webinar, we’ll talk about Chinese intellectual property laws relevant to Western fashion brands and Chinese enforcement mechanisms. We’ll also discuss recent cases of Western fashion brands litigating in China to register and enforce their intellectual property rights, including Fendi, Burberry, Bulgari, and others.
This webinar will be presented by Aaron Wininger. Aaron is a Senior Attorney and Schwegman’s Director of China Intellectual Property Practice. He counsels both U.S. and Chinese companies on patent and trademark portfolio development, non-infringement and invalidity opinions, and cross-border enforcement of intellectual property rights. His knowledge of both the Chinese and American markets allows him to advise his clients as they expand and enforce their intellectual property portfolios.
