The China National Intellectual Property Agency has announced a reduction in two fees effective July 1, 2019.

The Trademark Renewal Fee is cut in half from 1000 RMB to 500 RMB. The bibliographic data change fee is reduced from 250 RMB to 150 RMB and to 0 RMB if filed electronically. A further 10% reduction in fees is provided for e-filing when available (i.e., for most filings). Note that these fee reductions only apply to TM filing and prosecution and not litigation. Accordingly, foreign applicants should make sure that their Chinese counsel file electronically and reflect these fee reductions in their invoices.
